How to Send a Test Email (and Preview Your Email)

Preview, validate, and test your email before sending it to recipients

Before sending your email distribution, it's a good idea to preview and test your email to make sure everything looks and works as expected.

Agility's Content Validation tools allow you to:

  • Preview your email on different devices

  • Send test emails to yourself or colleagues

  • Check for formatting issues

  • Verify images and links

  • Confirm sender information before sending

Testing your email helps identify issues before your recipients receive it.

🔹 Open the Content Validation Panel

After composing your email, open the Content Validation panel on the right-hand side of the page.

This is where you can send test messages to yourself or your team.

From here you can:

  • Send a test email

  • Preview your email on different devices

  • Review validation warnings

  • Check links, images, and formatting

Once you click Content Validation, you’ll be able to choose one or more test recipients and send a test version of your email.

🔹Send a Test Email

Step 1

Click Send Test Email.

Step 2

Enter one or more email addresses to receive the test.

Step 3

Click Send.

Each recipient will receive a copy of your email so you can review it before sending your distribution.

🔹What Should You Check?

When reviewing your test email, verify:

  • Subject line

  • Preview text

  • Formatting and spacing

  • Fonts and colours

  • Images

  • Buttons

  • Links

  • Personalization

  • Attachments

  • Sender information

  • Footer

  • Overall readability

If something doesn't look right, return to the editor, make your changes, and send another test.

🔹Preview Your Email

You don't always need to send a test first.

The Device Preview options let you see how your email will appear on:

  • Desktop

  • Tablet

  • Mobile

Previewing different layouts helps ensure your email remains easy to read across devices.
