Use Curation Agents to Automatically Curate Your Coverage

Describe the coverage you want in plain language, and let an AI agent find it and act on it for you.

A curation agent is an AI agent that reviews your coverage for you. Sources such as Topics find coverage using keywords or Boolean search. A curation agent then reviews that coverage against an idea you describe in plain language and takes the actions you set, one set for mentions that match and one for mentions that don't. Curation agents are the first type of Automation Agent in Agility.

This is useful when an idea is hard to capture in keywords.

For example:

  • mentions that are more than a passing reference to your brand

  • mentions that frame a head coach as a controversial figure

  • mentions that discuss mining assay results

šŸ”¹Open Automation Agents

Open the Media Monitoring menu in the top navigation and select Automation Agents. If you have set up agents, they are listed on the Curation tab.

To set up a new agent, click Create Agent at the bottom right. The Create Curation Agent form opens.

šŸ”¹ Set Up a Curation Agent

  • Step 1: Name Your Agent

In the Name field, enter a name that tells you what the agent does, for example "Adidas Key Coverage". The name appears on your agent's card on the Automation Agents page.

  • Step 2: Write Your Prompt

Under Prompt, choose + New Custom Prompt.

  1. In Prompt Name, enter a name for the prompt, for example Adidas Main subject, not passing mention. This is separate from your agent's name.

  2. In Curation Instructions, describe what qualifies a mention for curation, what counts as a match, and what should be left out.

  3. Click Save Prompt.

Once saved, the prompt appears in the Prompt list, with its instructions shown below it. You can reuse a saved prompt in other agents: when you set up a new agent, choose the prompt from the Prompt list instead of writing it again.

Clear definitions help the agent sort your coverage accurately.

For example:

Curate mentions where Adidas is a main subject of the story, such as product launches, athlete and team partnerships, collaborations, company announcements, financial results, and leadership news.

A match is a mention that discusses something Adidas has done, announced, launched, or is facing.

Leave out passing mentions, such as Adidas appearing in a list of sponsors or brands, retail deals, discount codes and "where to buy" listings, and mentions that only name a team's or athlete's kit supplier without further discussion.

  • Step 3: Choose Your Sources

Sources are the places the agent looks for coverage.

  • Under Sources, choose a source type, such as Topic, then choose the specific source.

  • To narrow a source, click the filter icon. A source with no filter shows "No filter selected".

  • Check the Estimated Monthly Quota Usage shown under the source. This estimates how much quota the source is likely to use each month, and it updates when you add filters.

Optional: to see the mentions in a source before the agent has worked on them, click the eye icon (View Source).

Tip: a broad source can use a lot of quota. Filters narrow what the agent reviews and lower the estimate.

Add more than one source. Click + at the top of the Sources panel to add another source. One agent can watch several places at once, and the same prompt is used across all of them, so you don't need to repeat the setup. Each source has its own type, filters and quota estimate. To remove a source, click its trash icon. To pause or resume a source, use its Status toggle on the Automation Agents page.

For example, alongside the "Adidas" Topic, you could add a second source, the Topic "AI topic - Adidas UK". The agent reviews coverage from both against the same prompt.

Step 4: Choose Your Actions

Actions tell the agent what to do with the mentions it reviews. There are two sections:

  • Matching Mentions: actions for mentions that match your prompt.

  • Non-Matching Mentions: actions for mentions that don't match your prompt.

Add an action

  1. Click + next to the section you want.

  2. In the Add New Action window, choose an Action Type.

  3. Complete the settings that appear for that action type (see the list below).

  4. Click Save to save the action.

Each saved action appears as a card, for example Folder: adidas or Insight: Intelligent Summary.

Edit or remove an action. Open the card, then click the pencil icon to change its action type or settings, or the trash icon to remove it.

You can add more than one action to either section. For example, an agent can generate an insight on each matching mention and also save it to a folder.

Optional: Generate Insight

The agent writes an AI insight for each matching mention.

  1. Add an action and set Action Type to Generate Insight.

  2. Choose an Insight Type from the list.

  3. If you choose Custom, choose the analysis you want the agent to apply under Custom Analysis. This keeps the insight focused on your use case.

  4. To change more options, click the gear icon (Insight Settings).

  5. Click Save.

Step 5: Save Your Agent

When your agent is set up, click Save.

Your agent is live as soon as you save it. It appears on the Automation Agents page and reviews coverage from its sources as it arrives, carrying out the actions you set for matching and non-matching mentions. Before you save, check your sources, filters and actions.

Your agent on the Automation Agents page

Each agent appears as a card with its name, its prompt and its actions. Next to it, each source shows:

  • Status: a toggle. Active means the agent is reviewing that source. Switch it off to pause the source.

  • Analyzed (Last 24h): the mentions the agent has reviewed from that source in the last 24 hours.

  • Curated (Last 24h): how many of those matched your prompt.

View your results. Click the eye icon (View) at the bottom right of the agent's card.

šŸ”¹ Use Curated Coverage in Briefings

An agent can save its matches to a folder with the Save to Folder action. You can then use that folder as the source for an automated briefing, so curated coverage reaches your recipients without anyone selecting mentions by hand.

To set up the briefing, choose the folder as the source when you add automatically added coverage. See How to Create an Automated Email Briefing.

šŸ”¹ Quota

Each mention that runs through an agent uses one quota. If a mention runs through more than one agent, each agent uses one quota for it. This quota is only for Automation Agents.

To check your usage, open the Agent Usage Dashboard on the right of the Automation Agents page.

It shows:

  • Daily Average Usage

  • Total Quota

  • Quota Used

  • Percent of Quota Used

  • Days Remaining

  • Quota Reset Date
