Agility is required to report all UK licensed articles made available to customers to both the NLA and CLA. This applies to online and print media types.
š¹What this means for you
If your account includes access to UK licensed content:
Any mention that is shown in a set of topic results
Any mention that is saved
Any mention that is included in a report
Any mention that is included in a briefing or alert
If you do not want licensed articles to be reported, the only option is to suppress those publications from your monitoring searches.
š¹NLA Licensed Content
Agility will show NLA-licensed print and online articles in Topic results (with an active NLA licence).
NLA content will not appear in ad-hoc searches, to protect you from unexpected use of licensed content.
Articles count as āmade available" and will be reported if they appear on the first page of the topic results page.
When any user clicks to the next page, the results on the next page will also be counted as āmade availableā.
Licensed articles within briefings, alerts and reports will be reported to the NLA.
š¹CLA Licensed Content
When monitoring content from UK publications licensed by the CLA, you will see a key next to the headline of media mentions, as shown below.
To access the article, click the key icon. This will trigger Agility to report to the CLA that the article has been made available to you.
This is not the only function in the platform that triggers our reporting to the CLA. Articles may also be reported when they are:
Included in Topic results
Added to briefings, alerts, or reports
As with NLA content, the only way to ensure licensed articles are not reported is to suppress those publications from your monitoring searches.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I filter or report on CLA-licensed articles?
No. Agility does not currently provide a filter or report that isolates only CLA-licensed articles.
CLA-licensed articles are identified by the key icon next to the headline, but there is currently no way to filter or count only those articles within Topic results, Briefings, Alerts, or Monitoring Reports.
Can I prevent CLA or NLA articles from being reported?
The only way to prevent licensed articles from being reported is to suppress those publications from your monitoring searches so they are not returned in your monitoring results.
Can I identify NLA-licensed articles the same way?
No. Unlike CLA-licensed content, NLA-licensed articles are not identified by a key icon.
If your account includes an active NLA licence, eligible NLA content will appear in Topic results and other supported monitoring features in accordance with NLA licensing requirements.
Does this apply to both online and print articles?
Yes. Agility reports licensed UK content for both online and print media where applicable under the NLA and CLA licensing agreements.
