Agility’s media outreach, monitoring, and reporting tools are designed and built by our in-house engineering team. This allows every module to integrate seamlessly, ensuring that your monitoring insights directly inform and strengthen your media outreach strategy.
Even if you don’t have access to every feature, you benefit from this integration. If you use Agility for both media outreach and monitoring, your work connects across modules — supported by Agility’s AI-powered targeting, which helps identify journalists based on the coverage we monitor.
Below are examples of how Agility’s monitoring tools enhance your outreach and reporting workflow.
🔹Mentioned Keyword Search
Agility’s keyword search allows you to find journalists covering topics that matter to you by matching your search terms to their published content.
This means you can identify who is writing about new or niche topics, specific industries, brands, or competitors — including non-traditional journalists such as bloggers or influencers who may not follow a traditional beat.
In the example below, the search identifies fashion journalists who have recently mentioned “New York Fashion Week” in an article or social media post.
This combines Agility’s subject categorization with real monitored coverage, helping you find journalists who are currently discussing your topic of interest.
🔹Contact Profiles and Recent Coverage
Once you’ve found a journalist of interest, you can review their recent coverage across multiple media types to determine whether they are the right fit for your outreach.
Each article or post is accessible, and you can:
Save them as mentions to your monitoring folders
Monitor that author’s future work directly from their profile
Coverage can also be filtered — including by your original search keywords — allowing you to quickly locate what a contact has said about your specific subject of interest.
🔹Influencer Streams
Agility’s Influencer Streams let you track what verified journalists and influencers are saying in real time across traditional and social media.
You can create streams to view media activity from specific contact lists or keyword-based topics. Up to four streams can be displayed at once.
You can set up streams based on:
Searches and Lists: Populate streams with recent coverage from contacts in your saved searches.
Lists: Display recent coverage from contacts on your targeted media lists.
Keyword: Search by keyword to see recent coverage mentioning specific words or phrases used by contacts in the Agility database.
Click the image below to see a set of four Influencer Streams displaying:
Content containing “Bluesky”
Content containing “University of Birmingham”
Coverage from a saved search called “Education Contacts”
Coverage from a targeted media list called “Key Contacts”
🔹Media Outreach Directly from Your Monitoring Results
When viewing monitoring results, either from a saved topic or a new search, Agility automatically links each piece of coverage to our media database.
In the example below, the search has returned an article from The Guardian written by Jay Rayner, who is listed as a contact in the Agility database.
Without leaving the monitoring workflow, you can:
View Outlet Details and Contact Details using the icons in the Mention View panel
Access media outreach functionality directly from the same screen
Save the contact to an existing or new targeted list for future outreach
You can also view every contact and outlet associated with a coverage item at once.
For example, if a monitoring search matches 161 contacts, you can filter and save any of them to lists — all without leaving the monitoring module.
🔹Media Outreach from Your Monitoring Reports
This functionality extends into Reports.
Within a report chart, click on any data point or node to view the mentions from that day. This will open the Monitoring Mentions View.
From there, you can:
View each outlet or contact profile
Review coverage in context
Take outreach actions directly from within the report
🔹Monitoring Media You’ve Previously Targeted
Agility allows you to track whether your press releases and outreach efforts have resulted in earned media coverage.
You can create a monitoring topic that searches for content published by contacts and outlets from your targeted lists, saved searches, or email distributions.
In the example below, a user is searching for coverage of a Classic Car Rally at Silverstone — limited to contacts from their “Classic Cars Silverstone PR” list and their associated outlets.
This approach makes it easy to demonstrate how your outreach has translated into valuable coverage.
You can also use the Sources filter to target monitoring toward specific contacts, outlets, or media groups, depending on your campaign focus.
🔹Discover Best-Fit Journalists with AI
Agility’s PR CoPilot uses artificial intelligence to analyze your content and identify the most relevant journalists and media outlets for distribution.
By leveraging Agility’s media coverage data, PR CoPilot matches your content with contacts who are actively writing about related topics — ensuring your pitches reach the most appropriate journalists and decision-makers.
Combined with Agility’s extensive media database, this AI-powered targeting helps you build smarter, more effective outreach campaigns.
