How Do I Use Saved Templates, Copy, Re-Use, or Change a Published Briefing?

Using custom templates and making updates to a Briefing that is already "sent"

Updated yesterday

Agility makes it easy to reuse your briefing layouts, copy previously sent briefings, or make updates without starting from scratch. Whether you want to work from a template, re-send an updated version, or repurpose a past briefing, all of these actions can be completed directly within the Briefings section.

Below is a complete guide to using Saved Templates, Copying a Past Briefing, and updating briefings that have already been sent.

🔹Video Tutorial

🔹 Creating a New Briefing Using a Saved Template

  1. Go to Monitor > Briefings

  2. Select New Briefing

  3. You will see two options:

    • Create New Briefing

    • Copy a Past Briefing

Choose Create New Briefing to work from a Saved Template.

Select a Saved Template

  1. Under Saved Template, choose the template you want.

  2. Then choose how to begin:

    • Create Briefing – opens a blank briefing using the full structure of the template

    • Quick Create – pre-fills some initial information using the chosen template

Your new briefing now opens with:

  • All formatting and layout from the template

  • Any custom styles (font, colors, spacing)

  • Section settings

  • Filters

  • Metadata preferences

  • Automatic coverage sections (topics remain applied)

Mentions themselves are not carried over, unless they are pulled from an automatic coverage section.

You can now update the briefing by adding coverage, adjusting formatting, or inserting new components.

🔹 Creating a Saved Template

You can turn any briefing into a reusable template.

Once you have created and saved a briefing:

  1. Scroll to the bottom of the briefing

  2. Click Save as Template

  3. Give the template a name

Saved Templates include:

  • Section layout

  • Custom design

  • Styles and formatting

  • Filters

  • Metadata settings

  • Automatic coverage sections (topic sources retained)

Saved Templates do not include saved coverage mentions.
Automatic sections will re-run using their source topics.

🔹 Copying a Past Briefing

If you want to update or reuse a briefing that has already been sent:

  1. Go to New Briefing

  2. Select Past Briefing

  3. Choose the briefing you want to reuse

  4. Click Create Briefing

Agility creates a draft copy of the full briefing, including:

  • Mentions

  • Structure

  • Formatting

  • Notes

  • Components

Edit Your Copied Briefing

While in Edit Mode, you can:

  • Remove selected clips

  • Move clips up or down in a section

  • Move clips to different sections

  • Add new sections

  • Add or edit text, images, charts, or metadata

  • Change formatting or layout

  • Apply new filters

  • Update topic sources in automatic sections

When finished:

  1. Click Save as Draft

  2. Click Send when ready
