How to Edit a Mention in Your Monitoring Results

How to interpret sentiment or make changes to an article

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Agility allows you to edit any mention once it has been saved to your Saved Coverage / Folders. This includes correcting sentiment, updating fields, or adding engagement data for social content.

Editing is especially useful when sentiment needs to be adjusted or additional context is required.

🔹 How Sentiment Works in Agility

Sentiment is automatically generated by the system that delivers content to Agility. It analyzes keywords, phrases, and their surrounding context to determine whether a mention is:

  • Positive

  • Neutral

  • Negative

Important notes about sentiment:

  • Accuracy is approximately 70%, because:

    • The system evaluates language patterns only.

    • It does not understand sarcasm, humour, tone, or nuance.

  • Sentiment is currently supported in English, Spanish, and French only.

Editing sentiment manually ensures your reporting reflects the correct interpretation.

🔹 How to Edit a Mention

1. Open the mention you want to edit

Go to:

  • Media Monitoring > Saved Coverage, or

  • Open the Folder where the mention is saved.

Select the mention you want to update.

Then, in the right-hand panel, click Edit Mention.

2. Edit the mention in the Mention Studio

The Mention Studio will open, allowing you to modify:

  • Title

  • Summary

  • Publication date

  • Outlet / Source

  • Media type

  • URL

  • Sentiment

  • Tags

  • Folder assignment

  • Engagement metrics (for social media mentions)

Update any fields needed, then click Save Changes.

🔹 That’s it!

Your updated mention will now display your changes everywhere it appears, including:

  • Saved Coverage

  • Folders

  • Briefings

  • Reports

This ensures your analysis and reporting reflect the most accurate information.
