- How to use Mail Merge options in Agility's distributions
Within Step 3 of the distribution process, the platform allows you to personalize the email for each recipient. The email will pull information from the recipient’s profile and place them within the email body. For example, adding [FNAME] will insert the contacts first name (ie. Dear Susan).
Enter the supported option in the same format as shown in the above description.
To confirm that you have the proper formatting, sending a test email and or proceeding to Step 4 will allow you to review that the mail merge option is working correctly.
- How to use Mail Merge options in Subject lines
Agility supports the following mail merge options to dynamically pull information into your press release:
[PREFIX] [FNAME] [LNAME] [OUTLETNAME] [CITY] [TWITTERHANDLE]
You may insert any of these into the body of your press release, as well as in the subject line to make your headline more catchy and personalized.
To add a mail merge option to your subject line, go to Step 2 of the Distribution Process and add a mail merge in the Email Subject Line field, e.g.,
When sending test emails, be aware that you won't see the actual information pulled out in the subject line yet, however, be assured that once the email is "sent", the recipient will see the correct information in your press release.
