Use Precision Clips for Broadcast Mentions

Automatically identify and save the most relevant portion of a broadcast mention using AI, eliminating the need to manually search through lengthy clips.

Precision Clips helps you quickly find and save the relevant part of a broadcast mention. It uses AI to analyze the broadcast transcript, identify the section that matches your keywords, and create a focused clip. You can use the keywords that originally matched the mention or enter your own, and optionally save an AI-generated insight with the clip.

🔹 Before You Begin

To use Precision Clips:

  • Your account must have Broadcast Precision Clipping enabled.

  • The feature is available for broadcast TV and radio mentions.

  • The mention must have broadcast footage available.

🔹 Create a Precision Clip

  • Open a broadcast mention.

  • In the Mention View panel, click Precision Clip.

  • Configure the Precision Clip settings.

You can choose one of two options:

Mention Search Keyword Context

Uses the search keywords that originally matched the broadcast mention. Choose this option when you want the clip to focus on that original search context.

Manual Keywords

Enter your own keywords if you want AI to focus on a different subject or concept within the broadcast.

🔹 Save an AI Insight (Optional)

Enable Save AI Reasoning as Insight if you'd like Agility to create an AI-generated explanation describing:

  • why the clip was selected

  • the context surrounding the mention

  • the type of broadcast segment

This insight is saved with the mention and can also be used in AI-powered reports and briefings.

🔹 Create or Preview the Clip

After configuring the settings, you have two options:

Precision Clip

Click Precision Clip to automatically:

  • analyze the broadcast transcript

  • determine the most relevant section

  • save the clipped mention to your account

  • optionally save an AI insight

Preview

Click Preview to review the suggested clip before saving.

The Media Editor opens with the AI-selected start and end times already populated.

You can:

  • preview the clip

  • adjust the start or end points

  • save the edited clip

🔹 Review the Results

After processing completes:

  • the clipped broadcast replaces the original saved clip

  • an AI insight is added if selected

  • the mention displays information about the generated clip

🔹 Revert to the Original Broadcast

You can restore the original broadcast footage at any time. Where you find Revert to Original depends on how you created the Precision Clip.

If You Are Previewing the Clip

If you selected Preview and are still working in the Media Editor:

  1. Click Revert to Original.

  2. Confirm the action.

The original broadcast footage and start and end times will be restored, allowing you to create a different clip.

After Creating a Precision Clip or Leaving the Media Editor

If you selected Precision Clip to create the clip automatically, or have left the Media Editor after using Preview, you can restore the original broadcast from the Mention View:

  1. Open the broadcast mention.

  2. Click Revert to Original in the Mention View.

  3. Confirm the action.

The original broadcast footage will be restored.

🔹 Best Practices

For the most accurate results:

  • Use Mention Search Keyword Context when you want to focus on the keywords that originally matched the mention.

  • Use Manual Keywords when you want to focus on a different or more specific topic within the broadcast.

  • Use Preview when you want to review or adjust the suggested start and end points before saving.

  • Review clips before sharing externally.

  • Save AI Insights when additional context would be useful for reporting or other users.
