Visibility Intelligence

Discover how your brand is represented across AI answer engines, and identify opportunities to improve your visibility

AI answer engines are changing how people discover and evaluate information. Rather than browsing multiple sources, users are increasingly relying on AI-generated responses to answer their questions.

Visibility Intelligence helps you understand how your brand, or any topic, is represented across platforms such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, and Grok, and ultimately by the various sources informing these platforms.

By asking real-world questions, you can see how your brand is positioned, which sources influence those responses, and where you can take action to strengthen your visibility.

In this article, we’ll guide you through how to access Visibility Intelligence, run a search, and use the results to inform your PR strategy.

🔹 Step-by-Step Guide to Using Visibility Intelligence

Step 1: Access Visibility Intelligence

Visibility Intelligence is available as a standalone feature. You do not need Media Relations, Media Monitoring, or Social Listening enabled, as long as AI features are provisioned on your account, Visibility Intelligence can be added.

To access Visibility Intelligence:

  1. Click Account in the top navigation

  2. Under Brand Management, select Visibility Intelligence

If you also have the Media Relations module, Visibility Intelligence will appear there as well for easy access within that workflow.

Don't see Visibility Intelligence? Contact your account representative to have it enabled on your account.

Step 2: Enter Your Question

In the search field, enter a question your audience might ask.

For example:

  • Which companies are leading in sustainable fashion?

Click Get Answers.

Tip: If you have Brand Identities set up, select your brand from the dropdown before running your search. This feeds your full brand profile into the analysis and produces more relevant results. See Step 6 for details.

Step 3: Review AI Responses

Agility sends your query to multiple AI providers, including:

  • ChatGPT

  • Gemini

  • Perplexity

  • Claude

  • Grok

As responses load, you can:

  • See how your brand is represented

  • Compare positioning across AI platforms

  • Identify differences in how brands are described

Step 4: Analyze Sources Behind AI Answers

Each AI response includes source citations.

You can:

  • View the articles or pages used to generate the response

  • Open links to review the original content

  • Identify which outlets influence AI-generated answers

If a source matches Agility’s database, it will be mapped to an outlet.

Step 5: Take Action on Source Outlets

When sources are matched to the database, you can:

  • Add contacts to a media list

  • Open journalist or outlet profiles

  • Review past interactions

  • Use contacts for outreach

This helps you act on insights directly within your workflow.

Note: Outreach actions require the Media Relations module. If it is not enabled on your account, you will see an option to learn more or get in touch with your account representative.

Step 6: Use the Visibility Insights Panel

The Visibility Insights panel provides deeper analysis across all AI responses.

You can choose from:

  • Sentiment

  • Brand Representation

  • Competitive Brand Analysis

  • Citation & Authority Analysis

  • Custom Analysis

Using Brand Identities for Better Analysis

If you have Brand Identities set up in your account, you can select a brand from the dropdown in the Visibility Insights panel before generating your analysis. When a Brand Identity is selected, your full brand profile, including bio, mission statement, brand voice, key value propositions, and competitors, is fed into the AI analysis process.

This is especially impactful for Brand Representation analysis, where the AI can assess not just how your brand appears in AI responses, but how closely that representation aligns with your actual brand identity.

To set up a Brand Identity, see:

Custom analysis allows you to enter your own prompt to generate more specific insights.

Example:

  • What steps should we take to improve our positioning in AI answer engines?
